The Maldives Diving Accident Part 2 — New Evidence, The Sixth Diver & The Lethal Tank Five divers descended into the Shark Cave on May 14th, 2026. Part 1 told you what happened inside. Part 2 tells you what no one else is reporting. We reveal the sixth person — a student from the University of Genoa who changed her mind on the boat, stayed behind, and raised the alarm at 1:45 PM when the divers failed to surface. We examine Monica Montefalcone's final email, sent at 10:15 PM the night before the dive, and Giorgia Sommacal's last text message to her boyfriend Federico Colombo moments before descent. Then we go deep into the detail that changes the entire story: Gianluca Benedetti's second tank. A 32% oxygen nitrox blend. Maximum operating depth: 34 metres. Used at 60 metres. This is the tank that likely caused oxygen toxicity and the one he switched to in the final moments of the dive.
