Ep 32: M-1941 Marine Corps Pack / Recon Jack
Semper Fi everyone. Welcome to latest installment of Recon Jack. I’m your host, U.S. Marine veteran and historian, Chuck Lynch. On today’s episode, I’ll discuss the M1941 Marine Corps Pack, which is a pack system designed specifically to overcome the shortcomings of the M1910 and M1928 packs. The M1941 Marine Corps Pack was part of a Marine’s 782 Gear, also nicknamed Deuce Gear from the last digit in that term, and is standard issue web gear so called because the Group section of the National Stock Number for personal field equipment is 782. While I was still in the Marine Corps, everyone still signed this form when first issued our gear. I’m always open to suggestions, and I will likely cover a few Marine family members of some of you subscribers in the near future. I really enjoy interacting with you folks and seeing the growth of this channel; so please do not hesitate to send an email to [email protected] if you’d like for me to honor you or your Marine unit, or a Marine friend or family member.
