I have to admit: I somehow completely missed this horror film at first. Thankfully, a good friend pointed it out to me and told me I should really check it out. Thank you so much for that! Love Is in the Air, Pt. 1 immediately stood out to me and, for me, it feels like the Obsession Main Theme. It has such a mysterious, emotional and unsettling atmosphere, while still being incredibly beautiful and memorable. One thing I always joke about with horror movies is that you should usually add 2 full points to the IMDb rating, because horror films are often underrated compared to other genres. But with Obsession, that little formula does not work at all. The movie was already sitting above an 8.0 on IMDb when I discovered it, which is honestly pretty rare for a horror film. For once, I don’t have to add anything! This piano version transforms Love Is in the Air, Pt. 1 into a cinematic and emotional solo piano performance, while preserving the dark, romantic and haunting atmosphere of the original theme.
