In August of 2000, a three-year-old girl named Brianna Kriefall ate dinner at a Sizzler restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and died five days later from an E. coli O157:H7 infection traced to undercooked beef at the chain's buffet line. Sixty-four other people became sick in the same outbreak.
