The green transformation at the house in Holambra is almost complete; only one detail remains: presenting the new features to Eveline, the homeowner. For 50 days, she imagined what our gardener Carol Costa and her friends would be up to in her garden. And everything went so well that even the day of presenting the results of the "Garden of Ideas - 50 Days of Green" project couldn't have been more special: Eveline's birthday. Carol greets the owner at the gate, along with her team: Flávia Nunes, landscape designer from the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, Flores Welle (Flop), and Juliana Valentini from Viveiro Oiti, who quickly create a barrier to prevent the birthday girl from seeing the pond before the time. Blindfolded, Eveline is led to the back of the house to discover the new garden. There are so many new features where there was only a lawn and a few trees that everyone helps in the presentation of each space. Carol shows the area where there was only a wall and now has a screen with passion fruit and chayote, a vegetable garden in hay, a herb spiral, and a compost bin. Among the pruned walnut tree, the garden with its colorful foliage and flowerbed is a feast for the eyes and an invitation for bees and butterflies. The kiosk, which Juliana is sure will be Eveline's second home, brings hospitality to where there was previously only a slab of concrete. Using the concepts of bioconstruction, the team created a cool space with a wattle-and-daub wall and thatched roof. The comfort of the place is guaranteed by the stylish furniture and many utensils. Flop explains the origin of the materials used in the countertops: centuries-old wood from old farms in the region. Flávia takes Eveline to the side of the house and shows her collection of succulents, the climbing plants that will act as natural air conditioning to cool the bedrooms, and the marvelous vertical garden. There's also the pond with its new pets – 32 fish of various species, the remodeled interior of the house full of plants. So many modifications and creations, partner companies and people, that Eveline will surely need much more than 50 days to see every detail of her new dream garden.
