In an episode of the documentary series "Home: Inner Life," we'll visit the house of Luis Cassiano Silva, also known as "Sanduba," a resident of Parque Arará, a favela in the northern zone of Rio de Janeiro. With creative solutions, he managed to create a green roof for greater comfort during the Rio summer. With the gardening experience he acquired over the years as a caretaker in homes in the southern zone and through research, Sanduba gathered various plants, such as lemongrass and kalanchoe, to create thermal comfort in his home. In addition to the roof, the house's decoration is composed of objects that would otherwise have been thrown away, and Sanduba managed to find a new use for them. For example, old radios and helmets have become plant pots. On the walls of the rooms, the cultural producer expresses his art and feelings through paintings of people, landscapes, and objects, transforming spaces like the bedroom and living room into unique places.
