This is how to make stottie cakes. A stottie cake is a simple homemade bread, a real easy recipe. Stottie bread cakes are a traditional North East UK flat bread which is simple to make and delicious. This is real simple bread making. Here is a list of the ingredients and the method. 400g/14oz Strong Flour 0.28 140ml Milk 0.10 100ml Water 0.00 7g Dried yeast 0.08 1 tsp Sugar 0.02 1 tsp Salt 0.00 15g Veg Oil 0.20 Total Cost 0.68 2 Stotties 0.34 Each. At the warm milk and water add the yeast and sugar and set aside for 10 mins. To a bowl add the flour and salt. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and bring together to a slightly dry dough. Bake in an oven at 180c / 356f / Gas mk 4 for 10 - 15 mins. Turning over at about the 7 min mark.
