Creating the Perfect Death Trap Tile

In this video, I’m adding the first real problem-solving tile to the Essential Dungeon: a chasm. I don’t want every dungeon tile to be nothing more than another room or corridor. Some areas should force the party to stop, think, and interact with the environment. A chasm can create opportunities for ability score rolls, spells, improvised solutions, equipment checks, and creative problem-solving—especially for characters who are not thieves but still need a chance to help the group overcome an obstacle. I use the same basic Photoshop workflow featured throughout the rest of this series, building the artwork, adding texture and lighting, and preparing the finished tile for printing and tabletop play. The Essential Dungeon is continuing to grow one piece at a time, and I’d like your help deciding what gets added next. Leave a comment with the kinds of rooms, traps, hazards, puzzles, corridors, or unusual dungeon tiles you would like to see in future videos.
