Batalhão Borba Gato na vanguarda da Engenharia de Combate do Exército Brasileiro

Just over seven decades of existence and a history of vanguard combat engineering in Brazil. These are some of the statements we can make about the 2nd Combat Engineering Battalion, a unit of the Brazilian Army, headquartered in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo. The unit was created on May 15, 1946, by Reserved Decree No. 21.134-A. From the Bandeirantes, pioneers of their time, it inherited its historical name, the Borba Gato Battalion, a tribute to Bandeirante Manoel de Borba Gato, the unit's patron. Guided by the principles of the Combat branch of the Engineering Branch, the Borba Gato Battalion has built a history of pioneering in Military Engineering throughout its existence, distinguished by the receipt, operation, and maintenance of equipment considered extremely important to the Brazilian Armed Forces.
