This is episode 3 of our German campaign. Our battlegroup expands to three Panzer IV Ausf. F1s, forming the armored core for a sweeping maneuver across open farmland and clustered rural homesteads. The Soviets hold a loose defensive line anchored around barns, hedgerows, and scattered infantry pockets, but their positions stretch thin across the landscape, leaving wide flanks open to exploitation. From the outset, the operation shifts toward encirclement—armor advancing in a broad arc while rifle squads secure each crossing and intercept retreating forces. The Panzer IVs spearhead the movement, using their short-barreled guns to break up Soviet strongpoints and force defenders out of cover. As the armor presses forward, infantry elements tighten the noose, clearing out isolated resistance and cutting off avenues of escape. Smoke screens, shifting fields of fire, and rapid repositioning allow the encirclement to close in stages, shrinking the battlefield around the remaining Soviet platoons. What you will witness here is a controlled, deliberate envelopment—armor and infantry coordinating to isolate, surround, and dismantle the enemy’s line before it can properly react.
