JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo responded to the South Jakarta District Attorney's decision not to detain Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa following the second phase of the transfer from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. According to the National Police Chief, the National Police's authority in the case has been completed after the second phase of the process, namely the submission of the case files, evidence, and suspects to the prosecutor's office. Therefore, further handling of the case rests entirely with the prosecutor's office. Listyo Sigit explained that after the case files are declared complete (P-21), investigators submit all documents, evidence, and suspects to the public prosecutor for further processing, leading to trial. Previously, the case files for the alleged defamation case involving the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, which ensnared Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa were declared complete. The two suspects were then handed over to the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office as part of the second phase of the transfer process. Next, the public prosecutor will review the administrative completeness and draft an indictment before submitting the case to the court for trial. Regarding the possibility of other suspects in this case, there is currently no official information regarding the naming of new suspects.
