Jim Lauderdale & Verlon Thompson - Music Hall - Suwannee Spring Reunion - Live Oak, Fl 3-22-2025

Please Note: This is the updated version with more volume to replace the one posted earlier today...... Since they started doing this Music Hall set a few years back, it's been my number one MUST see and tape. Ya gotta get there early cuz the line to get in keeps getting longer every time. Not only are Jim and Verlon 2 of the absolute best solo artists in the biz but when they get together and the fun way they interact, there's not a more fun set to attend. Two highlights for me from this set are Verlon at about 31:50 in doing a really nicely weaved version of his original "The Guitar" in to George Harrison's " While My Guitar Gently Weeps", in to "The Guitar Man", written by David Gates and performed by Bread and back in to "The Guitar" I'm betting this is one Phil Ross is gunna LOVE. And I'm guessin' you will too. And at about 1:15:20 in Jim debuts(?) a cute and ironic tune titled "Artificial Intelligence" including a bit of fun schtick leading up to it. Verlon finishes it up with " I'm a Man of Few Words (literally)" and everybody walks away knowing what they've just seen is, as always, sumpin' very special.
