In their new book, "The Evolution of Violence," Harald Meller, Kai Michel, and Carel van Schaik explore the question of why humans repeatedly wage war. The authors combine insights from various scientific disciplines to illustrate, within this history of violence in humankind, the conditions under which war, murder, and manslaughter occur, and how we can prevent them in the future.
