I was convinced by this, but when I read the script that arrived towards the start of filming, I felt that it was similar enough to half of my life to go beyond being merely a reference. I wasn't sure if it would be possible, but I worried that unless the book itself was fully involved in the film, the many events I've experienced, the many pains that others have experienced, and the many sufferings that others might experience, would all seem like fabrication. Though there were many twists and turns, the book ultimately became the basis for the story, and we were able to mention the existence of actual events during promotion. But the film is ultimately fiction, a mixture of truth and lies. There was pain, and there was no fateful encounter. I tried to enjoy my twisted days, and I was never able to love my sister 100%. In that sense, the film itself is easy to watch, and if it weren't for the current situation caused by COVID-19, I think it could have allowed many people to learn, even if only in small fragments, about truths that have been buried in society. That role is mine. I don't know if it's the right thing to do. I've heard opinions such as, "If you think about the victims and their families, it's something you shouldn't do." But I've made my choice based on that. I've also heard opinions such as, "Not everyone who has suffered abuse commits crimes." It's true that I may not be able to stand with those who have survived despite their experiences." But I can't bear to see anyone else get hurt or lose anyone anymore.
