Ohio Job Shop Embraces 5-axis Machining to Speed up Prototype and Short Run Production

Northwood Industries is a job shop specializing in rapid prototyping and short run production, established in 1968. In 2009 they purchased their first Haas, a VF-6, followed more than a decade later by a pair of UMC-1000’s and a UMC-1250. According to Kurt Miller, President of Northwood, the Haas UMC’s allow Northwood to get to cutting chips quicker and achieve the accuracies they need in a shorter amount of time.
