Stassfurt Soda Works Narrow Gauge

While travelling in Germany this June, we stumbled across this 600mm gauge industrial railway serving the Stassfurt Soda Works. It runs about 2 miles from a loading point northeast of town to the main factory on the north side of Stassfurt. There are 2 trains powered by overhead electrification. There is no passing place that I could find, so trains run in pairs spaced about 20 minutes apart after loading and unloading. This seems to be about the running time for the line, so I assume only 1 train is moving on the mainline at any given time. Loading is accomplished via a cable pull system as the locos can't run under the tipple. The unloading point is not visible from an accessible area. Operations like this are becoming increasingly rare around the world as the size, flexibility and efficiency of heavy haul trucks causes the railways to be replaced.
