Sometimes performances like these just bowl me over. I grew up listening to Cindy Lauper, very familiar with the quirky and very specific sound she created as a pop singer in the 1980's. When my good friend Riaan sent me this video of the live performance Cindy gave in 2004, I was really intrigued. This was such a unique delivery of the classic Nina Simone song, so different and specific - as Cindy Lauper tends to be.
