In the last 15 years in Mexico 🇲🇽, more than 250,000 people have died in the war between Mexican drug cartels, and tens of thousands of women, men, and children remain missing. Drug traffickers in Mexico kill to eliminate inconvenient witnesses and consolidate their power through terror. Most of the time, the authorities don't even conduct investigations to clarify what happened. So, the families of the missing search for their loved ones on their own, not knowing if they are alive or dead, carrying out their own investigations. For a year, in the state of Michoacán, in west-central Mexico, one of the regions hardest hit by drug-related violence, Alex Gohari, Léo Mattei, and Rémi Vorano followed Patricia, Teresa, and Indalecio in their search for two children, a fiancé, and a brother. These three people, whose lives changed overnight, came together and joined forces to find answers to the questions that haunt them. Their investigation, which includes morgues and mass graves, leads them to speak with those involved in organized crime in an attempt to unravel the mystery of unexplained disappearances.
