The World Isn't Built for Me | Disability Advocate Mandy-Jayne Lace
#DisabilityInclusion #Resilience #FeminineFlames –The World Isn't Built for Me | Disability Advocate Discover the inspiring story of Mandy-Jayne Lace, an award-nominated disability inclusion leader, social entrepreneur, educator, speaker, and advocate who has dedicated her life to creating a world where everyone belongs. Born with serious kidney conditions and multiple health challenges, Mandy spent much of her childhood in and out of hospitals. At just 11 years old, she experienced a moment that would shape the rest of her life: while recovering from major surgery, she was told she would have to spend Christmas in hospital because the government refused to fund a simple heater for her family home. It was the first time she truly understood what exclusion felt like—and the moment she decided to fight for justice. What began as a young girl's determination to help others quickly evolved into a lifelong mission. From supporting miners' families during the strikes in the UK to becoming a leading voice for disability inclusion, Mandy has spent more than three decades challenging systems, breaking barriers, and helping thousands of people access opportunities that society often denies them. In this powerful and emotional conversation, Mandy opens up about growing up with chronic illness, losing her mobility, adapting to life in a wheelchair, and the difficult journey of navigating a world that often wasn't designed for people like her. She shares why she believes that disability is not created by the individual, but by the barriers society builds around them. Mandy also reveals one of the most dramatic chapters of her life: nearly dying during Covid after being placed on a Do Not Resuscitate order. After double pneumonia, intubation, and a near-death experience, she emerged with a renewed sense of purpose, deeper spirituality, and an even stronger commitment to fighting for inclusion and human dignity. Today, Mandy is the founder of Accessibility Partners, a seven-figure organisation helping hundreds of disabled people across the UK access employment, support services, equipment, transportation, and opportunities to build meaningful lives. Her vision is bold: to create a future where inclusion is designed into society from the beginning—not added as an afterthought. A deeply moving conversation about disability, inclusion, resilience, purpose, spirituality, social justice, leadership, overcoming adversity, and the extraordinary power of believing that every human being deserves a place in the world. 🔗 Follow Mandy-Jayne Lace on social media: / mandyjaynel 🔗 Follow us for more stories of feminine transformation: / feminineflamestv / feminineflames / @feminineflames 🌸 Your support keeps the flame of this inspiring community alive. 🔔 Turn on the notification bell so you don’t miss any interviews this season.
