In the year 1987 he completed the B.F.A from the institute under the supervision of faculty like Prof. S. #Palsikar, #Tirodkar, Rajadhyaksha, Mrs. #Karande, #Nagvekar, #Shetge, #Jatkar, #Dixit, #Deshpande, #Nibre, #Kale, #Machave, #Saynekar, #Dandekar, #Sathaye, #Murti and #Dr.G.M.Rege. After the completion of his education and training, Sunil felt an inner urge to express himself and test his ability on the practical ground of the world of art. He didn’t bind himself to a particular form of art. Like a true artist he experimented with different forms of art, whether it is painting, photography, poster design, advertising or cinema. He contributed immensely for the enrichment of art and culture of Assam and entire Northeast. #Sunil Kumar Sinha assisted #Mohan Ghosh in the casting work for the first #Khasi film “#Manik Raitang”. His also assisted the poster design of the first #Bodo film #Alearan. #Jahnu Barua The year 1988 was a successful year for the artist. He was associated with the legendary filmmaker #Jahnu Barua’s “Halodhia Choraye Baodhan Khai”, as a Title Script and name casting. The film bagged the National Film Award for Best Film in 1988; and it also won multiple awards at the Locarno International Film Festival in 1988. He assisted the filmmaker again in the year 1990 in the production of the film #Bonani. The film bagged the Best Film on Environment in the National Film Awards for the year 1990. He was responsible for the Title Script and name casting in the film. #Sunil Kumar Sinha also worked with many other Assamese film directors and producers like Dip K (for #Oh Chenai) and #Hiranya Kr. Barman (for #Samadan). In addition to cinema, his inimitable dexterity is also found expression in the literary field. Sunil worked with many publications of the Assamese, #Bishnupriya Manipuri and Bengali languages.
