How to get over driving anxiety: Core Beliefs CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety)
If you are having difficulty overcoming your driving anxiety, perhaps a limiting belief is holding you back. A core belief is a deeply held belief about yourself, others and the world. This can influence everything you do and how you perceive the events unfolding before you. Limiting belief examples: I have to know everything otherwise people will see I’m not good enough. I have to be a perfect driver or I could cause a crash. Women can’t drive as well as men. I can’t drive on a motorway. A limiting belief is something you believe to be true but actually isn’t based on reality … it’s based on your past experiences. It wouldn’t hold up in a court of law. The challenge with limiting beliefs is that we’re blind to them. They influence everything and we allow them to limit our opportunities because we can’t see them. So this video is about noticing your limiting beliefs about driving. And how you can change them.
