Source of Hope - The Displaced People of Mozambique

Since late 2017 extremist groups have wreaked havoc in the northern Mozambique province of Cabo Delgado killing locals, displacing communities, and capturing towns. At last count, over 700,000 people have fled this extremist insurgency with many seeking safety in Pemba and surrounding villages The attacks show a complete disregard for the local population, which has suffered tremendously because of the terrorists’ brutal tactics. We're committed to sharing the simple gospel of love no matter the circumstances. Daily we are distributing enough food to feed 30,000 internally displaced and extremely needy people. Our team has drilled wells to provide clean water and sanitation so there isn’t a compounding health crisis. Hygiene kits, garden packets, and temporary shelters are also passed out to help people regain a sense of stability. While meeting these physical needs, the greatest joy comes from giving away Bibles in the native languages, introducing people to Jesus, and discipling new believers in their walk with the Lord. We will persevere in this work for as long as there is need. As we face this manifestation of evil, we keep Jesus ever before us knowing He already laid His life down for us. May your heart be filled with compassion to pray for the hurting and lost to come to know Jesus and for his love to transform the nation of Mozambique for eternity. He is the source of hope.
