Cycling in the Sludgy Snow

On Saturday, January 3rd, most of the Netherlands got covered in a few centimeters of snow. Utrecht got around 5cm, and to Dutch standards, this is a lot. Once the snow stopped, I went out for a bike ride to capture these wintery scenes, but it turned out that most bike paths had not yet been cleared. At the same time, temperatures rose by a few degrees and the snow had started melting. This led to very slippery conditions, and it's probably safer to walk if you're ever in this situation. The video covers a windy route from the Wilhelminapark to Zuilen, along a variation of smaller and larger streets, and several canals around the centre. By the next day, city vehicles had cleared most bike paths, and safe cycling (and driving) is possible again.
