Barbunul, cel mai gustos peste de la Marea Neagra

It was a beautiful summer morning on the Black Sea. The sun had just risen from the sea, bathing everything in a warm, golden light, and the air was clean, salty, and slightly cool – perfect for a fishing trip. Dozens of fishermen had already gathered on the pier, each hoping for a good catch. The atmosphere was relaxing, calm, with only the sound of the waves gently hitting the stabilopods and a few jokes exchanged between the fishermen. Some were fishing for mullet, others were patiently waiting for a catfish, but most were focused on the star of the day: the mullet, one of the most appreciated and tasty fish in the Black Sea. I fished on the substrate, with a simple but effective rig, specially prepared for mullet. As bait I used sea worms – natural and very effective. I cast gently near the pier, and the wait was not long. The first pulls were felt quickly – slight jerks from the tip of the rod, a clear sign that the mullets were active. The atmosphere was beautiful, some of the fishermen were talking about recipes for fried mullet in cornmeal crust, others were making plans to come back the next day. Everything took place in perfect harmony between man, sea and nature.
