All-Aspect Anti-Submarine Warfare Exercise With The RCN And ROKN

Join GO BOLD for exclusive coverage of a Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) bilateral Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) exercise which was conducted in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Eastern Pacific Ocean in early June 2026. The all-aspect ASW exercise brought together: -HMCS Corner Brook (Victoria-class submarine) -ROKS Dosan Ahn Chang-ho (KSS-III class submarine) -HMCS Ottawa (Halifax-class frigate) -ROKS Daejeon (Daegu-class frigate) The exercise provided an important opportunity for HMCS Ottawa to evaluate its newly installed Underwater Warfare Suite Upgrade (UWSU) under realistic operational conditions, enhancing the ship's capability to detect, classify, track, and engage undersea threats. Also participating in the exercise were Royal Canadian Air Force CP-140 Aurora long-range patrol aircraft and a CH-148 Cyclone maritime helicopter, whose crews further refined their anti-submarine warfare tactics while operating alongside Canadian and Republic of Korea naval forces.
