N. Shamsuddin, who has been the Minister for General Education, Waqf and Minority Welfare, has been an MLA from the Mannarkkad assembly constituency in Palakkad district since 2011. He was born in 1969 in Paravanna, near Tirur, Malappuram. His father's name is Muhammedkutty and his mother's name is Mariyakutty. He has a wife and a daughter. His daughter has a child after her marriage. He lives with his husband in Manjeri. His daughter and son-in-law are doctors. After completing his school education in Paravanna, he studied B.Com at Thunchansmaraka College and M.Com Master's degree at PSMO College, Tirurangadi before obtaining a law degree from the Government Law College, Kozhikode. He has been elected from Mannarkkad for four consecutive terms since 2011. In 2011, his majority was 8270, but in 2026, he was able to increase it to 25903.
