How did Chrissy Metz change her life and become healthier and happier?! By staying true to herself and persevering through tough times. As one of the stars on This Is Us, Chrissy plays Kate, a woman who struggles through her weight loss journey. Reality isn’t too far from fiction, because Chrissy has opened up about her own struggles in real life. The actress’ health journey began in 2014, she even said when she read the This Is Us script for the first time that Kate’s fears were her fears. She lost 100 lbs in less than 5 months and says that it took her looking at life and health in a different way to start realizing her goals. Chrissy attended her first audition by accident! The actress used to be a preschool teacher and went to an audition with her sister. While at the audition a woman who said she used to teach at Chrissy’s highschool encouraged her to audition. She ended up getting the opportunity to move to Los Angeles! Today she plays Kate on This is Us. Chrissy shares a lot of similarities with Kate, saying she had a real connection with the character. What’s in Chrissy’s future? This Is Us has been renewed through the 6th season; she’s producing a movie for Netflix called George; and has been writing music for a possible album!
