Camino Catastrophe! -Day 57- Camino de Santiago

*Day 57 (Nájera–Grañón)* Make time for God. I had coffee with a warm napolitana and finished Genesis. I also brainstormed a story I’d like to write based on my journey. I reached Santo Domingo fairly quickly, but at the supermarket I realized I was missing my wallet and started to panic. I regained control, bought groceries, and then walked into town to get a taxi. I stopped at a church to pray for help, got a disappointing croissant, and then asked a taxi driver named Oscar to help me. He did, and I gave him all the money I had in my wallet. He said that after 33 years he had decided this work wasn’t worth it, because it took too much of his life and he could not even relax for dinner without getting calls. God allowed me to forget my wallet so I could bless that man and have the chance to give cheerfully. I gave thanks and praise in the cathedral of Santo Domingo.
