The castle played an important role in Scotland’s history and remains one of the country’s finest surviving tower houses, overlooking the dramatic Dollar Glen. 🌿 Fun Fact Despite its original name, Castle Gloom, the castle was renamed Castle Campbell by the Earl of Argyll to better reflect the growing power and influence of Clan Campbell.
