Seascape 18 AUT 007 - 13. Juni 2021 - Neusiedler See - die HOPPALA's

Hier nun die HOPPALA's der Ausfahrt am 13. Juni 2021. Auf den ca. 10 Seemeilen von Breitenbrunn zurück nach Mörbisch sind wir 4 mal gekentert. Das ist bei Böen über 30 kn fast unvermeidbar. Klar sieht man das bei der 2. Kenterung, bei der wir Großschot und Gennakerschot bereits komplett offen haben und es uns trotzdem einfach umzieht. Am Neusiedler See ist das kein großes Problem, weil man am gesamten See stehen kann. Deshalb: Boot wieder aufstellen und weiter geht's. Bemerkungen dazu: Es ist extrem wichtig, dass der Vorschoter beim Setzen des Gennakers und bei den Manövern den Kopf immer so weit unten hat, dass ihn der Baum im Falle einer Patenthalse nicht erwischt (siehe dazu Hoppala # 1). Patenthalsen können gerade am Neusiedler See leicht passieren, da der WInd bei uns nicht nur extrem böig ist, sondern es auch starke Winddreher (bis zu 30° und mehr) gibt. --------------------------------- English --------------------------------- Here now the HOPPALA's of the trip on June 13, 2021. On the approx. 10 nautical miles from Breitenbrunn back to Mörbisch we capsized 4 times. This is almost unavoidable with gusts over 30 kn. You can clearly see this in the 2nd capsize, where we already have the mainsheet and gennaker sheet completely open and it still just pulls us over. At Lake Neusiedl this is not a big problem, because you can stand at the whole lake. Therefore: put the boat back up and move on. Comments: It is extremely important that the bowman always has his head so far down when setting the gennaker and during the maneuvers that the boom does not catch him in case of a chinese gybe (see Hoppala # 1). Chinese gybes can easily happen, especially on Lake Neusiedl, as the wind is not only extremely gusty here, but there are also strong wind shifts (up to 30° and more).
