I want to make a correction. There was a typo in the written pattern for children's size 22 and adult size 23. If you notice that both have the same number of foundation stitches for the soles (21), the only thing you need to do for size 23 is to chain 22. When distributing the stitches in the following rows, you do it similarly to the other foundation of 21 chains; in reality, you will only increase one stitch for adult size 23. In fact, for children's size 22, you can even start with 20 foundation chains since acrylic yarn tends to stretch a little, and there's no problem; it will still fit the child well. Unless, of course, the child has a wider foot, in which case you would need to increase the foundation chains.
