Firefighters make progress on wildfires burning across Utah
At least 388 fires have raged across Utah so far during the 2026 fire season. Close to 250,000 acres were burned by Sunday, according to Utah Fire Info. The number of acres burned has surpassed the 165,000-acre total across the state in 2025. Three firefighters were killed this weekend in the Snyder Fire located on the border of Colorado and Utah. Two other firefighters were injured in that same fire.
