Optimus Factory 2Xs, Even More Construction, Cybercab Rides! 27 July 2026 Giga Texas Update(8:35 AM)

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cybercab and Cybertruck production happens and the home of Cortex 1 & 2, the Optimus Robot & the Advanced Technology Chip Fabrication Facility I’m back from Starbase and Starship Flight 13 and in the few days I was away, a lot of construction progress in multiple locations around the site! The pace of progress is not slowing down at all, possibly accelerating! Production in progress today with all three vehicles produced here (so far). Flight 14 may be coming as soon as mid- to late- August and it looks like that launch will include a ship return for a catch attempt! If true, this will be the hottest ticket to get and be at in south Texas! In addition, I talk about a massive new construction area just west of Giga Texas called the Dogs Head project is a massive, 2,600-plus-acre mixed-use development plan in Southeast Austin led by Endeavor Real Estate Group. On July 23, 2026, the Austin City Council voted 7-3 to approve a Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) to fund infrastructure. The site is known as the Dog’s Head because the Colorado River creates such a shape. Endeavor Real Estate Group is leading the charge to turn the property into a transformational development. Over a build-out window from 2030 to 2057, plans include 12,395 residential units (split evenly between single-family and multi-family/condos) and 9 million square feet of commercial, industrial, and retail space. Austin city leaders and Amazon noted that Amazon's robotics division is a prospective tenant for an advanced manufacturing facility on roughly one-tenth of the site. Overall, estimates for the project believe it will yield $3.5 billion in new city property tax revenue over 30 years, scaling total property value up to $26.9 billion by 2057. I also talk about four separate permits just filed for the FAB (meaning Advanced Technology Chip Fabrication "Fab" factory at Giga Texas. These trailers are typically used for construction companies and the general contractors for large construction projects and may also be temporary SpaceX and Tesla offices for the standup and initial operations. A few other highlights during the drone flight today: Progress at the SpaceX & Tesla joint Advanced Technology Chip Fabrication factory has hit another gear, with the foundation not only taking shape, but expanding longer to the S. The beveled corners that we saw in the original render have yet to emerge, so I’m not sure if this is a change, or will be added later. GeoPiers and grouting of piers seems to be well underway today, while footing rebar cage assembly is moving right along on the NE of the foundation. Steel beams & columns are beginning to be stockpiled nearby. New views of the rapidly growing Tesla Optimus factory here at Giga Texas. This structure has grown to 13 column grid spaces N-S, meaning it is now nearing 600’ long (~190 m) so far & will continue to grow much longer as earth reclamation work continues on the far S of the site. A lot more steel has been delivered to the site and the 7 cranes at work are assembling this steel onto the structure almost as fast as it arrives. Employee autonomous Cybercab pickups and drop offs continue around Giga Texas today, and here is just one of many such examples. The new clearing on far W side by Tesla Road continues to grow larger with more grade work, full dirt deliveries and a relocation of the transport trucks and trailers to the far south of the site to clear room. We see a distinct rectangular section emerging where crews are removing the gravel top layer from the site.
