Mantenimiento de sliders para moto . #motos #sliders #mercado libre
Motorcycle sliders are the crash bars/frame protectors that protect the tank, fairing, and engine in a fall. They are also called "frame protectors." Their maintenance is simple but crucial, because if they fail in a crash, the repair will be extremely expensive. Here's the maintenance schedule according to type: 1. Frame sliders/crash protectors - the most common Every 2,000-3,000 km or every wash: 1. Check the bolts: The bolt that attaches them to the frame/engine loosens with vibration. Tighten with a torque wrench according to the manual, usually 40-55 Nm. If it loosens, it will come off in a fall and won't protect anything. 2. Inspect the nylon/Delrin: Look for cracks, uneven wear, or flattening. If it has lost 30% of its diameter, replace it. The sacrificial nylon is what absorbs the impact. 3. *Cleaning*: Remove accumulated mud and dust. Mud traps moisture and rusts the screw and the aluminum base. Water and mild soap are sufficient. Do not use gasoline. 4. *Check the base/aluminum*: If your slider has an aluminum base, check that it is not bent. A bent base prevents the slider from making initial contact in a fall. Every 6-12 months: Disassemble the entire slider. Remove the screw, clean the frame threads with contact cleaner, and apply Loctite 243 medium blue threadlocker. The Loctite prevents loosening but allows you to disassemble it afterward. 2. Axle sliders / “fork sliders” These are the small tubes that go on the front/rear wheel axle. Maintenance: 1. Check that they are not bent. If the motorcycle fell sideways and the slider became bent, it will no longer provide adequate protection. 2. Tighten the nut that secures it to the axle. They loosen easily. 3. If they are plastic, lightly sand any scratches so they slide better on the pavement. 3. Swingarm Sliders Same as axle sliders. Check the screws and make sure the plastic isn't chipped. Signs you should replace the slider NOW: 1. It has deep cracks or is broken into pieces. 2. The screw is stripped or the threads in the frame are damaged. 3. The aluminum base was bent in a previous crash. 4. It no longer protrudes from the fairing/tank. If it's flush, it won't make initial contact. Mistake that ruins sliders: Applying grease to the screw "to prevent rust." Grease causes it to loosen with vibration. Use blue Loctite, not grease. #motorcycles #d150 #italika #mercadolibre Are yours nylon, aluminum, or "stunt peg" style? If you tell me the make and model of your motorcycle, I can tell you the exact torque for the bolt and how often to check them based on the engine's vibration. Has your motorcycle already been dropped with the sliders installed, or are you about to install them? #italika #motorcycles #mercadolibre #sliders https://www.mercadolibre.com.mx/p/MLM...
