I got a new metal traditional retainer! Pros and cons vs my old clear plastic retainer

After getting braces years ago, I had a permanent retainer installed on my lower teeth, and a removal retainer that I put in nightly. I used the clear plastic retainer for years, but the bad thing about those is that they crack easily and can grow mold. The traditional metal retainer now comes in a variety of colors and lasts much longer. While I had to replace the plastic retainer every couple of years, this metal retainer should last me at least ten years, if not more. Yes, there is a cost difference to the clear plastic retainer and the metal retainer, but I think was less than a $100 difference. Want more of Kat?
