He was born as a child. He was the eleventh child in a family of twelve children, nine brothers and three sisters. However, he deeply felt the absence of his father in his early years. His father was one of the members of the Democratic Party who were exiled to Yassıada, Sivas, and Çanakkale after the May 27th coup. He was among those exiled during the period known in history as the "55s Incident." Therefore, Burhan Çaçan only got to know his father when he was six years old. In an interview with Ayşenur Arslan, he described his childhood days with these words: “I was born in 1960 in Eleşkirt district of Ağrı. I have nine brothers and three sisters. I am the child of a wealthy landowner. All 12 villages in our family were under my father's control. Despite being a member of such a family, we lived an extremely modest life. My father was a member of the Democratic Party who was exiled to Yassıada, Sivas, and Çanakkale during the coup period. He was one of the names known in our history as the ‘55s.’ My father remained in exile for six years. I saw him for the first time when I was six years old.” Burhan Çaçan's interest in music began at a young age. However, his family, especially his father, did not want him to pursue music. He never had a very good relationship with school. As he moved away from education, he became closer to music. Despite his father's strong objections, he did not give up his passion and continued to sing folk songs at home. After starting primary school, the beauty of his voice caught the attention of his teachers. He had already decided to become an artist at that age. She went to Erzurum when she was only 12 years old. After a while, she participated in an audition organized by TRT Erzurum Radio for amateur singers. She won first place in the competition, which included many candidates, and sang folk songs on Erzurum Radio for about three years. In an interview with Magazin Kolik, she described those days as follows: “I went to Erzurum when I was 12 years old. That's why I consider myself half-Erzurum native. At 14, I took the audition held by TRT Erzurum Radio and came first. At 15, I achieved fame. In the audition, where masters of the time like Nida Tüfekçi and Mehmet Özbek served as judges, I sang long ballads and folk songs that even they didn't expect from me. They asked, ‘Who do you listen to, where did you learn these songs?’ When I said I listened to Hafız Burhan and Celal Güzelses, they were very surprised. Nida Tüfekçi was a great authority in Turkish folk music. He said to me, ‘With your velvety voice, you will touch many hearts and sing very beautiful songs. I am fascinated by you.’” Despite his family's initial objections, Burhan Çaçan's entry into the professional music world began in this way. After his adventure in Erzurum, he turned his attention to Ankara. When four songs he prepared for TRT (Turkish Radio and Television) were approved by the committee, he was a guest on Halit Kıvanç's program. Halit Kıvanç announced him with the words, "A young man from Ağrı has arrived." His appearance on TRT allowed his voice to reach a wider audience. Following the program, he began receiving offers from various places. Based on these offers, he left Ankara and headed to Istanbul. Burhan Çaçan, who began working on his first album, released "Sefa Geldin" in 1981, with Arif Sağ as the music director. With his first album, he attracted the attention of the music market. Following this, he solidified his place in the music world with works such as "Ben Yarime Neler Alayım" (What Should I Buy for My Beloved?) and "İpek Mendil" (Silk Handkerchief). During the years when his music career was beginning, Burhan Çaçan also ventured into cinema. He shared the lead role with Pembe Mutlu and Ahmet Mekin in the film "Makber" (Tomb), directed by Yücel Uçanoğlu. He later acted in films such as "Ağlama Yavrum" (Don't Cry, My Child), "Yetim Cemo" (Orphan Cemo), and "Her Yer Karanlık" (Everywhere is Dark). His album "Ayaz Geceler" (Frosty Nights), released in 1988, became one of the biggest turning points in his career. The album reached a very wide audience and sold millions.
