New Guinea is the world's second largest island, but it barely gets a nod of acknowledgement on the world stage. Not many people seem to know it exists. The bride price tradition has been a longtime practice in the region. For a large sum of money, and for gifts and livestock, women are traded over, to become the husband's property. While the bride price ceremony itself may be a beautiful sight to witness and be a part of, it is hard to deny the practice itself is far from perfect. This video will explain why. Hello.
