My experience with the ADAC Drive app 🚗💨 I drive a Jaguar F-Pace and almost always use the ADAC Drive app for trips with our trailer 👀 And for route planning, it's been the best app I've ever used 🔥 The planning is fantastic: ✅ Enter trailer length ✅ Calculate travel times with a trailer ✅ Consider restrictions ✅ Display toll costs per country ✅ Exclude individual countries from tolls It's a really great solution 😮‍💨 BUT… what about the user interface and navigation? Absolute disaster 🚨 As soon as you start the route: ❌ No proper controls ❌ No zooming ❌ No map panning ❌ Only "End route" Additionally, my music volume was completely muted 😳 I couldn't get Spotify back to normal volume on either my phone or in the car. And then came the real problems 👀 The app repeatedly tried to: 🚨 direct us off the highway and immediately back onto the same on-ramp 🚨 make us do a U-turn with a caravan 🚨 guide us through residential areas 🚨 send us into dead ends 🚨 navigate us through entire cities because of a 3-minute traffic jam In Freiburg, the app even tried to send us into a narrow dead end 😳 Absolutely impossible with a caravan. Later, during a detour, it repeatedly tried to make us turn around and keep pushing us into small residential areas. The app also repeatedly tried to direct us through residential areas. After nearly 300 kilometers and what felt like 50 wrong decisions, I unfortunately had to turn off the app and switch to Google Maps. The problem is: Google Maps doesn't recognize my caravan/trailer combination 🚐 This can be really critical, especially in small Spanish towns with narrow streets and one-way systems. That's why I really hope the ADAC (German Automobile Club) urgently improves this 🙏 Because the app used to be absolutely fantastic, and we always got around everywhere with our caravan without any problems.
