Route 66 Part 10 - ARIZONA, Two Guns, Twin Arrows And A Trip To SEDONA

Route 66 through Arizona and the first stop is the Meteor Crater not far from Winslow. This is a paid attraction but it is definitely worth visiting. The 50,000 year old crater is nearly 600 feet deep and 4000 feet in diameter. There is a short guided tour and a museum to visit as well. Next are the disused Route 66 roadside attractions of Two Guns and Twin Arrows Trading Post. Catch up with the whole Route 66 Playlist :    • Route 66 - The Great American Road Trip   After the Arizona desert landscapes around the meteor crater the landscape changes as you pass Winona on the way to Flagstaff. The deserts start to change to tree covered mountains. Just under an hour from Route 66 from Flagstaff is Sedona. The town is surrounded by dramatic red rock mountains, canyons and pine forests. It is definitely worth taking a diversion from Route 66 and spending at least one night in Sedona.
