The Police Directorate of Investigations (DPI) has dealt a major blow to organized crime with the capture of four key members of the dangerous "Los Sagastume" gang. The detainees have been transferred to San Pedro Sula to face justice. Details of the operation: Identities of those captured: Carlos Antonio Sagastume López, Gerson Germay Zambrano Sánchez, Jairo José Erazo Vázquez, and Tony José Menjíbar Aguilar. The crime: They are directly linked to the kidnapping of businessman Héctor Eduardo Liser Pinto (27 years old), which occurred in the department of Colón. Failed ransom attempt: The criminals demanded 3 million lempiras for his release; however, the victim was successfully rescued without a single lempira being paid.
