Melaque, whose full name is San Patricio Melaque, is a charming coastal town located in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Its history dates back to pre-Hispanic times, when the region was inhabited by various indigenous cultures, including the Nahuatl. The name "Melaque" comes from the Nahuatl "Melaki," which means "place where the gods are worshipped."
