Recorded: July 2019 Since 1981, Medjugorje has become a popular site of Catholic pilgrimage due to Our Lady of Međugorje, an alleged series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary to six local children that are still happening to this day. Since 2019, pilgrimages to Medjugorje have been authorized by the Vatican. The name Međugorje literally means "between mountains".
