La dame de Vix et sa drôle de tisanière

October 20, 1978 This program focuses on the Lady of Vix, a mysterious woman in whose tomb treasure and the famous Vix vase were found. The Lady of Vix was Celtic, probably a woman between 30 and 35 years old, who may have died from a head injury. She wore a gold diadem. She lived on Mount Lassois around 500 BC. Was she a Celtic princess, the daughter or wife of a chief? A priestess? Someone involved in the tin trade? Why such an opulent tomb, assembling objects from all four corners of the ancient world? Some answers are provided by Maurice Moisson, who discovered her tomb and the treasure it contained in 1942, and Geoffroy, curator of the Museum of National Antiquities in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, who talks about the vase and the restorer who reconstructed the chariot found in the tomb. The Lady of Vix appears in the report as Patricia Clouzot. INA archive footage National Audiovisual Institute http://www.ina.fr Subscribe http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c...
