Sultan Qaboos Mosque Sohar - A Landmark In Sohar

Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan bin Hamood Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar inaugurated, on Friday, 28th of October 2016, the Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the Wilayat of Sohar. The mosque covers a total area of 181, 000 sq. metres and the built up area is 28, 778 sq. metres. The area allocated for the mosque accommodates the landscaping, car parks and other facilities. The main prayer hall of the mosque accommodates 4,600 prayer performers. It also has a prayer area for 740 women. The mosque is located opposite Bait Bahjat Al Andhar in the Wilayat of Sohar. The mosque represents a new landmark added to the deep rooted historic landmarks in the wilayat of Sohar.
