Float Height: Inspection and adjustment the RIGHT & WRONG way! Demo on: YZ250F
In this video, I show you the two most common reasons for setting float height incorrect. Let’s look at them separately. Carb orientation o You just want the float tab kissing the float needle BUT the needle is fully seated. Cleanliness is key along with needle to seat fitment. Think: no burs or damaged from removal that would cause the assembly to not work smoothly together! A true understanding or how the float needle is designed o That little spring loaded point on the float needle acts as a cushion or damper to aid in the life of the needle. If you set your float height with this collapsed, it will be off. Having an understanding of the engineering behind the parts will always aid in your craftsmanship while turning wrenches.
