The management of the Africanized bee represents a great challenge and a difficulty for Colombian beekeeping due to its defensive and evasive behavior. We have the opportunity to manage tame bees of European origin in crosses with the same Africanized bees thanks to the genetic reserve of European bees on the island of San Andres.
