New 2026 Honda Fit (Jazz) - Perfect Practical Hatchback

The current fourth-generation Fit, released in February 2020, was developed with the themes of "ease of use in everyday life and excellent driving performance, aiming to be close to people's lifestyles." Since the first generation was released in 2001, the number of Fits in Japan has reached 1.29 million units, second only to the 2.48 million units of the "N-BOX" series which debuted in 2011. The updated range spans the entry-level X, the mid-range Z, the sporty RS, and the rugged Crosstar. The Chinese-spec model got a redesigned face, but the Japanese Fit carries on with the same exterior it wore after the 2022 facelift, so nothing major changes on the outside here. From the outside, the base X continues as it was without any changes. Mid-spec Z trim, on the other hand, has been given some cosmetic updates as part of this 25th anniversary update. However, these are not new cosmetic updates, but more of a parts sharing from the top-spec RS trim, which had its unique aesthetics. Starting with the new Z, the variant adopts RS-inspired front and rear styling, giving the Fit a sportier appearance. It also gains a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, heated front seats, and UV/IR-cut glass as standard. Honda has also introduced a rotating front passenger seat option based on the Z grade, making it easier for occupants to get in and out of the vehicle. The RS, meanwhile, is now offered exclusively with Honda’s e:HEV hybrid powertrain. It receives further visual upgrades, including a piano black front grille and rear garnish, along with red-stitched suede combination seats and stainless steel sports pedals to give the sporty hatchback a more premium feel. The list of standard equipment has also been expanded to include the Honda Connect Display with Electronic Toll Collection System, wireless smartphone charging, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. For those looking for something a little more adventurous, the Crosstar continues as the lifestyle-oriented variant of the lineup. It now gains heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as standard, making it more comfortable for longer journeys. Beyond the grade-specific changes, Honda has also improved the Fit’s exterior finish with a new clear coat, enhancing the body’s gloss for a more premium appearance. Regarding the power units, there are no changes to the lineup, which includes a pure gasoline model equipped with a 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine with a maximum output of 118 PS and a maximum torque of 142 N・m, plus a CVT, and the "e:HEV" hybrid system which combines a 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine with a maximum output of 106 PS and 127 N・m, a driving motor with a maximum output of 123 PS and 253 N・m, and a generator motor.
