Every bit of help counts in rebuilding the country! Two weeks after the earthquake that devastated several areas of the country, the main collection centers in the capital are reporting a worrying decrease in the flow of material aid and the number of active volunteers. From the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) and the San Bernardino de Siena Church, logistics coordinators warned that after the peak of massive solidarity seen during the first week, the flow of supplies has diminished considerably due to the severe economic crisis hitting ordinary citizens hard. This drop in supplies is raising alarms in the humanitarian sector, as the emergency remains active and more than 17,000 victims continue to be displaced without homes or basic services. Civil and religious organizations, such as Cáritas Parroquial and the PP Foundation initiative, issued an urgent appeal to the community to resume donations, specifying that clothing is no longer needed, but rather critical health and hygiene supplies. Among the absolute priorities are diapers for children and adults, infant formula, non-perishable food, and pediatric medications or medications for the treatment of diabetes and infections (antibiotics). Likewise, medical personnel in the disaster zones urgently require 0.9% sodium chloride solutions, Ringer's solution, syringes, compresses, and medical linens. Those in charge of the collection centers emphasized the need for medications and supplies to be unexpired, reporting that much of the material received has had to be discarded for sanitary reasons. Additionally, the few remaining volunteers described sorting tons of clothing—which arrives dirty, stained, or covered in bodily fluids—as an "unhygienic and arduous" task. They also found items unusable for the emergency, such as wedding dresses and high heels, which hindered distribution efforts. Despite the difficulties, the civilian centers ensure transparency through strict inventories and photographic documentation of outgoing shipments to verify that aid reaches the families who lost everything in La Guaira and Caracas.
