Classic Albums Live - Van Halen’s Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love

June 6, 2026. Ohhh man, the gang from CAL did it again. The Van Halen show, IMO, was one of their best. The singer was a decent stand-in for Dave, had character & good energy. The main guitarist handled Eddie’s part with seeming ease. The rest of the band fit right in too. 1984 is a pretty decent album on its own, but the 2nd half of the show was awesome. There were 2 acoustic jazzy numbers that were said to be a tribute to Eddie & Alex’s father. These didn’t do much for me personally, but the rest kicked ass. I don’t want to spoil the show closer, but it’s one of my favourite VH tunes, high energy, early VH and IMO they couldn’t have picked a better tune to close things out. I’ll likely be seeing this show again when it comes around to another local theatre. Highly recommended! #classicalbumslive #cal #vanhalen #1984
