Montesdeoca. Although the place presents itself as a guachinche (a typical guachinche), we discuss the confusion, as an authentic guachinche is usually small, family-run, and serves its own wine, while "La Basílica" is more like a restaurant. Throughout the tour, we analyze the differences, and Alberto, who has visited the place before, shares his experience. In addition to exploring the history of the Basilica of Candelaria, we chat about typical Canarian foods, such as grilled cheese with mojo sauce, chickpeas, and moray eels. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we discovered it was a huge and crowded space, reminiscent of a fast-food restaurant rather than a traditional guachinche. Although the service was quick, the dishes arrived all at once, which somewhat detracted from the more leisurely experience we typically expect at these types of places. Even Pepe commented that the experience felt a bit rushed, comparing it to McDonald's. Finally, we reflected on the rice dishes they offered.
